The General tab, seen in Figure 9.3, is where you enter the first name, initials, last name, display name, description, office, telephone number, e-mail address, and Web page parameters for your user. The Other buttons allow you to enter additional telephone numbers or Web pages.


The Address tab (Figure 9.4) is where you enter the street, P.O. box, city, state/province, zip/postal code, and country/region parameters.


The Account tab is probably the most-used tab in the user property sheet. This is where you enter the user logon name, the domain, and the pre-Windows 2000 (NetBIOS) logon name and domain. Pressing the Logon Hours button provides a nice graphical user interface (GUI) utility to specify the permitted logon. With a few simple mouse-clicks and drags you can easily restrict an employee’s hours from 8 am-5 pm Monday through Friday as shown in Figure 9.5.


The Log On To button allows you to specify which workstations users can log on to. Just below that is the Account locked out check box. Under normal circumstances, this should appear grayed out. If checked, it means the account has had more incorrect logon attempts than permitted by your

security policy. The user should be contacted immediately, and you should also check your logs to verify whether he or she forgot their password or if there has been an unauthorized access attempt. In a secure environment, the account will stay locked until reset by an administrator. Otherwise, it may reset in an hour or other length of time specified in your policy. In the box below Account locked out there are numerous account options.
